It wasn’t that long ago that I finally took out my credit card and paid a good price for a pair of Ugg Boots. I’m not your typical female who loves to doll up, wear heels, and dresses up all the time, I’m the one who is usually walking around in a pair of tight blue jeans. However, visiting my friend in college over the Easter weekend opened up my eyes to a cool new line of boots.

What makes Ugg brand boots unique is how light they are. They weigh practically nothing. These boots are warmer than their suede counterparts because the sheepskin keeps the cold out better. The soles are made of a very lightweight synthetic rubber compound that seems to be perfectly molded to your feet.

Since my girlfriend and I wear the same size shoe, I wore these boots out one night right over my blue jeans. A nice flower top with puffy sleeves and I have to tell you I looked good. I just couldn’t get over how comfortable these boots were. The following morning, I put them back on, wrote her a check and told her to go get herself another pair.

Imagine the scene, me and Linda having a tug of war with one of the boots, after she successfully wrestled the boot away from me, she swatted me with it across the arm. After we made ourselves cry laughing over how stupid this was, I got on her laptop and ordered the same exact pair as hers. This should permanently put an end to our bickering. It’s great too that we can wear the same boots out together, and since they go with anything, no one will notice because the rest of our clothes will be so different.

That was over a year ago, and we still talk about that little competition we had that day over a pair of boots. Both of us are still wearing our boots too. Linda introduced me to these boots and I think I’ll be wearing them for a very long time. Oh well, as long as they keep making them I’ll keep buying them. I’m so thankful for the Internet, there’s no stores anywhere near my town where I can buy them, I can get really cheap ugg boots too. To the computer I go, to put my credit card to more good uses.
